Unleash Your Essence

Your desire to dial up your essence is primary to why you, like million others make new year resolutions. If this is your practice, how well did you do or are you doing on your New Year Resolutions?

I confess, I no longer make New Year resolutions since discovering my life’s rhythm or what I call Flow State. You see, all my life till this moment I lived a life of striving.  I strived for people’s approval, degrees, promotions, moments of gratifications, fashion trends, etc yet the joy of living was ebbing away right before my very eyes and I didn’t even know it.

Now that I am on the other side, which by the way was a challenge crossing over. I have been able to retrospect on my past, while at the same time sought to learn from those experiences.  I failed, succeeded, and made mistakes that have led me to some fundamental truth: as the essence of water is life, the essence of you is You.  So, be YOU!

I’m persuaded that if you don’t love yourself no one will. If you don’t believe in yourself no one will. If you don’t celebrate you no one will. Harsh but it’s true! However, if you embrace the totality of you: your truest essence, and I mean all of you: the good, the bad, the ugly and the in betweens, and from that place choose to own all of You, then and only then can you begin to live in Flow State–live your truth, your dreams.

Becoming whole, and thereby flowing in confidence, self love, self care, self acceptance and then, the empowered you emerges. Unleashing the very essence you are: a gift or a present, who’s presence speaks louder than words.  Expressing your best and what you want to receive from others aka the Golden Rule.

Getting here while exciting as it may sound is and can be an excruciating challenge. I hate to break the news…There are no exemptions in life. We all go through the same life cycles, and each one of us encounters a few bumps on life’s journey.  Still, truth is a choice, and you and I must determine ours.  Turning off the noises around you and particularly those in your head is a great start.

The noise are the voices real or imagined that seek to victimize you and I.  Often reinforced by the bad habits we grow into that always leave us empty, frustrated, burned out, striving and crippled to inaction. Because we care so much about what others may think of us. My journey on this path has taught and affirmed my belief that when you embrace the truth, live in truth, only then can you live your truth and your dreams–becoming the person–the gift you were created to be to others.

Today, we hail those who have shaped our history and inspired us to great causes. The likes of Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr., President Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa etc yet many of us though we agree they changed the world for better. We find it difficult to reconcile how they affected the changes they did having lived in an era where resources were scanty if not worse of compared to what we have these days.

That said, you may be wondering how can I move forward, make progress in my New Year Resolutions with ease?  Or better yet, how can I ensure to advance moving the needle just a bit from where I was last year?
If you are asking yourself these questions, I salute you because you are on the verge of codifying your own blueprint. Unraveling this for yourself will settle you on your flow to do what your authentic self know well Must be done.

This then becomes your navigator guiding you henceforth as you start to live your truth–your Essence–Being not Doing (humanbeing not humandoing).  My view for why resolutions are ineffective is because they are about doing and not being.  Endeavor to be, press on, have some grit, do not give up, get help if you must. Examine your intentions and beware of your deep feelings. Embrace gratitude for being more than enough as you are.  And from this place of feeling abundance create your best life as you wish.

My client often asks for tips on how to map their blueprint.  Here are a few questions that can help you tap into your inner wealth…

  1. What do I want my life to look like?
  2. Who do I want to become?
  3. How can I make this possible?
  4. Why does it matter?
  5. When I leave this world, what contribution will I’ve made?

Whatever answers you come up with, beware that the only truth that counts is the Truth You Choose to Embrace! Therefore, choose your truth wisely, and Live Your Truth, Your Dreams NOW… because if not now, when? Remember tomorrow is not guaranteed.

My truth and joy is to inspire you to pursue meaningful work that yield fulfillment. What about you, what is your truth?
